Works with a smartphone right out of the box – no need for a smart home. The Schlage Sense pairs with the Schlage Sense Wi-Fi Adapter (sold separately) to connect to your lock from anywhere with up to 30 access codes. Mechanical key backup.

Works with Android and iPhone but the Wi-Fi Adaptor is not compatible with the Apple Home app or Siri voice control. Controlled with the Schlage Sense app.

4. Yale Real Living Assure Lock

The Assure Lock uses a 4-8 digit pin code with up to 250 codes using a Network Module. Must have Z-Wave or ZigBee integrator for advanced home features.

When updated with Network Module, sold separately, this lock works with SmartThings, Alexa, Honeywell, Wink, Vera, Iris, and Ring. When connected by August, it works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where should I use a keypad lock or deadbolt?

  • They are recommended for perimeter doors. Keypad Locks can be used either on perimeter doors or in areas inside your home where you may need extra security, such as doors leading from the garage to home, basement stairs, utility or storage rooms, or home offices.

Can keypad locks be re-keyed to match existing keys?

  • Yes, depending on the locks that already exist. Ask a Felts Lock & Alarm locksmith for details.

When should a mechanical key be used?

  • When the battery is dead, user code not known, or the lock fails to operate.

Is there any special wiring required?

  • No. The keypads operate on batteries.
